Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew – new Adobe Commerce shop

Celebrating the launch of Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew’s new Adobe Commerce shop

Since onboarding Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on Magento Open, we have worked closely with the team on a major new programme of work. We are proud to share that we have just launched the first stage of that work with a new website built on Adobe Commerce.

The new site is the outcome of a collaborative discovery process that places the overall journey of Kew as an organisation and the ambitions for the programme of work at the very heart.

We have worked as a combined team to understand functional scope, customer needs, and design goals to develop an online experience that closely aligns to the long-term digital experience the organisation strives to provide.

Delivery has focused on building a mobile-first, fully responsive design, that prioritises accessibility alongside technical improvements to front-end build and a rework of the integrations for the site.

We have also taken advantage of the move to Adobe Commerce to improve search and merchandising capabilities using Live Search and Product Recommendations that are available in the platform. In addition to this, we included a move of payment providers to Adyen, again as a foundation for future growth.

There have been many talented people involved in this project, we want to take the opportunity to highlight our brilliant Senior Project Manager Nassia Krikela, and Kew delivery lead, Tanya Child, for their fantastic work in ensuring the successful launch of this new website.

We are excited to move to phase two of this programme of work and continue to support Kew as their dedicated ecommerce partner.
